Please read all of below for information regarding your appointment

What to Do Before Your Appointment

To ensure the best results from your ear wax removal appointment, we recommend the following preparation:

Wax Spray recommended – Clean Ears by Bio Revive Available for purchase from Sharon King Hearing Centres.

We recommend you call into our office and have one of our front house staff do an otoscopic examination of your ears prior to your appointment.

We also ask that you use Clean Ears for at least 3-4 days prior to your appointment. When using Clean Ears. You will need to spray this into your ear and lay down for 10     minutes for each affected side.

Avoid Cotton Buds: DO NOT insert cotton buds, cotton wool or other objects into your ears, as this may push wax deeper and make removal more difficult.

Let Us Know of Any Ear Conditions: If you have a history of ear infections, ear surgeries, or a perforated eardrum, please inform us before your     appointment so we can tailor our approach accordingly. We are unable to perform a wax removal if you are suffering with a CURRENT ear infection.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Your appointment will be quick, professional, and as comfortable as possible. Here’s what will happen:

Assessment – We will examine your ears using specialist equipment to assess the level of wax buildup.

Gentle Removal – Using safe and effective methods such as microsuction, curette or irrigation, we will carefully remove the wax without discomfort.

Hearing Check – Once the wax is removed, we will assess your ear health and provide any additional advice if needed.

Aftercare Guidance – We will explain how to maintain healthy ears and minimise future wax buildup.

Aftercare Advice

To keep your ears healthy after your appointment, we recommend:

Use Clean Ears regularly: Using Clean Ears once a week can help keep wax soft and manageable.

Avoid Inserting Objects into Your Ears: Cotton buds and other objects can push wax deeper and cause blockages.

No Ear Candles: These do not remove the wax in the ear and pose a serious risk to the ears.

Monitor for Symptoms: If you experience discomfort, dizziness, or hearing issues after your appointment, contact us for further advice.

Meet the Team

Leonie Jarratt
Cerumen Removal Specialist

Having found a passion to make a difference for our elderly, I worked for many years, primarily as an enrolled nurse in the aged care sector. Those years exposed me to a wealth of experiences with individuals and families, all of which have left me feeling truly honored to be a part of to this day.

The very same can be said after working closely with high need individuals in the disability sector, also an incredibly inspiring time. After enjoying a short break to recharge, | am excited to have joined the friendly and exceptional team at SKHC to support their amazing services in auditory health.

I look forward to meeting and working with the locals and a variety of like-minded health professionals. It gives me unlimited pleasure when I know I have in some small way, made a difference to someone’s day through what I do. My indulgences are family, motorbike rides (pillion), caravanning, cardmaking, Pilates (Reformer), swimming, movies & catching up with friends.
